When I speak a word or think a thought, every cell in my body is listening.
Bruce Lipton, through his work in epigenetics, discovered that it’s not our DNA that controls our lives, it’s the signals our cells receive from the environment, including the environment inside our body (our thoughts, emotions and beliefs).
Every cell in our body has antenna-like receptors that are constantly “listening” to what we feel, think, say and believe.
Just like a radio picks up signals from the air, our cells have receptors or an antennae that pick up signals from our environment. Thoughts and emotions create frequencies. Every thought or feeling (like joy, fear, love, anger) creates a biochemical signal or a specific vibration or energy pattern. Our cells pick up those signals and adjust their function accordingly. When we think a negative thought our cells receive the signal to go into protective mode, perhaps reducing healing and shutting down growth. With positive thoughts like love and gratitude (higher frequencies) the cells receive signals of safety, growth, and repair.
Change your thoughts, and you change the signals you send to your cells, literally transforming your biology, your health, and your future.
ABUNDANCE: I have everything I need …..and more.
When you believe this statement and you begin to radiate the frequency of abundance you will draw more and more into every area of your life. When you believe that there is something more that you need in your life in order to be happy and fulfilled you are radiating the frequency of neediness. Entrainment (a process where one rhythm or frequency synchronizes with another) is one way of explaining the process of attracting what you focus on into your life.
FREQUENCY: By raising my Frequency or vibration, I am upgrading every molecule in my body.
Love and Gratitude are two of the highest frequencies. Refer back to the above paragraph regarding page one and your cells listening.
BELIEVE: I begin to Believe more in my dreams than in my surroundings.
As I Believe, so I receive. Your cells don’t respond to the truth. They respond to what you Believe is true. That’s the power of perception. This is what Bruce Lipton calls the “Biology of Belief”. Change your thoughts, and you change the signals you send to your cells and literally upgrade your frequency and your life.
IMAGINATION: When I turn on my Imagination, I am turning on my Intuition.
When I want to turn on my imagination I sit quietly, breathe deeply and slowly, and I open my mind to new possibilities. I am looking to create a mental image of something that does not currently exist in my reality. I do not try, as much as I allow my subconscious to bring into my conscious awareness that which I desire. I believe this is where intuition comes in. Intention is a great tool to utilize in this process.
INTENTION: is when I focus my attention (energy) in the direction I want to go and on the goal I want to achieve.
An intention is like a roadmap. Setting an intention in the morning is like entering your goal for the day into your inner Nav system. You can check in during the day to see if you are on course, and at the end of the day ask yourself if you are satisfied with what you have achieved. Did you reach that goal you set for yourself and are you ready to open that symbolic door in the book?
Intention may be used as a bedtime process to connect with your subconscious while you sleep. When you are searching for an answer or
looking to create from your intuition (subconscious), you set an intention as you slip into sleep with the goal of manifesting the answer the next day.
Think of it like this:
Imagination gives you the vision. Intuition tells you what’s in alignment. Intention gives it direction and brings it into action.
EQUANIMITY: is calm attention in the moment, in an attitude of openness and acceptance, with all things being equal.
Equanimity is an emotional state of neutrality while observing the present moment unfolding without resistance, attachment, or judgement. Practicing staying rooted in the present moment allows you space, clarity and freedom.
I DECIDE: in each moment if I want to live in cooperation or competition, Equanimity or judgement, Love or fear.
Living in cooperation means aligning with others to achieve mutual goals, support shared well-being, and contribute to collective growth. It is based on connection, empathy, and the belief that we rise together.
Living in competition focuses on outperforming others to gain a personal advantage. It’s often rooted in the belief that resources, opportunities, or recognition are limited. It’s not that competition is always “bad”—it can inspire excellence and growth when it’s healthy and respectful. But cooperation is essential for deeper fulfillment, community building, and healing the divisions in our world.
When you make a decision to observe the present moment in equanimity you are living in a neutral place of calm. It is easy from here to upgrade your frequency into joy, love or gratitude. If however, from your place of neutrality you slip into judgement, conflict or fear, my advice is to take one step at a time and raise your frequency by offering first awareness, then compassion to yourself and others and then gratitude for your new awareness and eventually love.
LOVE IS THE ANSWER, LOVE IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER.
CONTEMPLATION: is when I take a subject into the gap between concentration and meditation and play with it.
I spend time not thinking, not feeling, just imagining. Try going into the gap one at a time with the questions: Who am I? What do I want? How can I help?
On the Contemplation page in this third book in the Self-Empowerment series, there is an image of a peaceful stone garden with a fountain bubbling away and a bench to sit on. You do not need this garden in reality to go into the gap, but it helps to be able to imagine it or something like it. Close your eyes, take a few slow deep breaths and feel yourself settling into a state of calm relaxation. Connect with the bench beneath you and the earth beneath that. Listen to the water gurgling in the fountain, the breeze in the trees, and the birdsong. Stay connected as you ask yourself, Who Am I? Just ask, with no expectation of an answer. Be in your body, not your mind. If you have difficulty staying connected try breathing into and out of your heart. This takes practice, but luckily you can try it several times a day for just a few minutes, and with practice you will find that you can “go there” very quickly. Take turns asking these questions and more of your own.
SOUL: My Soul is my inner Being, the real me that existed before this body and will exist after the Light in this body goes out.
The beginning concept in the first book in this series, “This Little Light of Mine” states that Before I was born, my Light began to shine. Now in the final concept in the third book we take a look at the Soul.
Understanding the Soul, Spirit, Consciousness, Inner Being or whatever you are comfortable calling the real, non-physical you is a spiritual journey that lasts a lifetime.
My hope is that this series of books has placed your feet firmly on the ground on this magnificent planet while connecting with your inner being, with love in your heart, joy in your Soul, Peace in your mind, and Gratitude for the experience of being Human.
